Product Description

Removal of algae, organic contaminant, sand, rock, grit and other inorganic contaminants found in open reservoirs, canals,
and recycled water systems
The Media Filters use a bed of sand to filter particles out of thewater. Water passes. The sharp edges of the sand snag and
trap the solid particles when water passes through the open spacesbetween the sand particles. The dirt particles are removed
during the backwash cycle trapped in the sand bed . The dirtand backwash water is exhausted through the backwash
manifold and routed to a convenient location.

The Cleaning Process
Cleaning is done by backwashing; pressurized water flows in reverse direction – from the nozzles upwards, causing suspension of the filter bed, thus releasing the suspended matter from the bedding. The dirt particles are then washed out of the filter through the backflush valve. In automatic media filters installations the cleaning process is done by the system’s controller. When the pressure differential switch senses that the differential pressure across the system reached a preset value, a signal is sent to the flushing controller and the self cleaning process begins.
